I am a full time student, part time worker, and I take on myany side jobs...this book is exactly what I needed. I am in my first year of college but due to a program I participated in during high school I am in my junior year of college. I have been struggling to manage my time and keep my head above water, so I bought this book. Now I must say, I have heard all of these thing before but sometimes you have to learn things in your own for them to stick with you. This book has changed my mindset on my time and how I spend it. I downloaded this book on a free promo along with the action guide and I find it's a perfect companion to other early morning productivity routines that I recently started. It's ideal for the self-employed person who can change around their schedule to suit their work. I'm not sure how a person with a 9-5 job could manage this- but for someone like me it's very helpful. The hacks in it are a little vague so it's not quite as specific as I would like, but for a basic book it offers some cool schedules and suggestions. So far the schedules are working well!
Thanks so much for the boot to get me moving. The conciseness of this guide is refreshing, as opposed to long books that take forever to get through. This is all about pure action.
Thisbook is different. It's really short, but it is packed with usable stuff. You can read it in less than two hours and you can implement it and see results right away. Also, it is very inspiring. This book is geared to anybody who has things to do. You do not need to be a business geared to anybody who has things to do. You do not need to be a business geared to anybody who has things to do. You do not need to be a business executive to see the value here.
I made a resolution this year to read any and all sorts of "life hack" style books. This one kept popping up as a suggestion. I figure if the book was a 1 star, I'm only out 4 bucks.
In my life, I am a college student (At almost 30) and I'm also lucky enough to work a PT job that allows me to work from home and make decent money. But, for whatever reason I suck a planning out my day. This book has a companion guide that you can download that allows you to plan out what is the most important to the least. Not only for a week but 5 years from now. This allows you to focus on what will complete your goals and put away things that don't add much value.
The only confusing thing for me, they have a custom schedule called "Mind and Body Refresh." This is what I am starting out with. when they talk about "Action Blocks" I am unsure if this includes "Prework" or not. I assuming it does so I do my pre work then I move on to stuff I have to get done for the week.
All in all a very good beginners guide to help you plan your day, week, month or life.
The author spend almost half the book or 5 chapters selling his book or foretelling what the book going to teach. Book promotion should not been done to people who already bought the book and wasting my time reading 5 chapters without getting into the main point.
Secondly, disappointingly there is nothing new about why we need to do what we need to do like not to procrastinate, not to oversleep and do it quick if it's need to be done so you left with more time doing the fun staff, who wouldn't already knew this?
I worked in corporate for more than 10 years, full time parent for another 10 years and entrepreneur for past 5 years, what the book teach is nothing more than common sense that everyone who has ever worked would have realized it yourself. I will not recommend this book. Maybe we all knew what productivity mean but what we really need to train ourself is "self discipline"!
I've known Chandler for a few years and when I saw he had released a book I wanted to do anything I could to support it. After I got my copy I read it and really felt connected to the thoughtful concept he put into place. While the schedules are wonderful, they don't really apply much to a 9 to 5er like myself however the thing I found most important were the worksheets. Sure, I could have put together a similar goal spread sheet but the truth is, I had not so when I saw these in the book I was more then thrilled. Something about it just helped get my rear in gear so to speak.
I also enjoyed the pro-tips, and will be incorporating them into my schedule. Keep your eyes open and soak everything in to get the most of it, even if you feel it doesn't apply to you there are ways you can work this into your lifestyle. I recommend this for anybody who is looking to get more juice from the squeeze and not feel so stressed out from work or school life.
Very easy to read and put to use right away to start improving my productivity. I am a full-time college student, business owner, wife and mother and there never Seems to be enough time during the day to get everything done! This book will help me organize things more clearly, and not feel bad about taking time for myself for exercise, social life, and just plain me time!
